Why Korean Music Star PSY is that popular

Let's call it PSY syndrome. With his all time international blockbuster song "Gangnam Style," South Korean rapper PSY has been getting hold of a lot of attention all across the Internet. The "Gangnam Style", which started in South Korean, spread quickly all over the globe, stimulating music fans internationally with the song's funky beats and humorous dance moves.

The "Gangnam Style" music video gone mega viral since its release few years ago -- clocking in at YouTube hits that are immeasurable as of the time of writing.

PSY (real name Park Jae-Sang), he's 34, somewhat rotund, and content to laugh at himself as well as others -- this is the Korean Music Album star apparently taking over the world.

According to the video's YouTube explanation, this was all bound to occur. "The song is categorized by its strappingly addictive beats and lyrics, and is therefore certain to go through the foundations of contemporary philosophy." Quite an announcement, but perhaps not too farfetched, bearing in mind how obsessed we've set up ourselves.

The Korean music video begins with PSY daydreaming in a beach chair at a junior playground. He longs for a "glowing, electrifying girl" who is "tender and kind-hearted" by day but, by night-time, her heart turns wild and fiery.

He dances in a passageway station, by the watercourse, on top of a contemporary building, and even in a municipal bath, a far cry from a Beverly Hills lifestyle.

Thanks to PSY, the entire world is talking in relation to Gangnam, Seoul's ritziest district, and thinking where -- or what -- it could perhaps be.

PSY's meteoric rise to internet prominence hasn't gone unseen by all the other Korean Drama Music Online celebrities. Moreover, both T-Pain and Josh Groban have tweeted concerning the singer's viral hit, and PSY's managing company claims that Justin Bieber has publicized interest in collaborating with the singer.
